Your Path to Future Careers

Grade 9 is a crucial year for every learner, as it’s time to start thinking about potential careers. Your subject choices for Grade 10 can shape your future, so it’s important to choose wisely.

To earn your National Senior Certificate in Grade 12, you’ll need to take seven subjects: four compulsory and three optional. Here’s what you need to know:

Compulsory Subjects:

Two Official Languages:
- English Home Language
- Afrikaans First Additional Language or IsiZulu First Additional Language
Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
Life Orientation

Optional Subjects (Choose Three):

Physical Science
Life Science
Computer Application Technologies (CAT)
Business Studies
Tourism
History

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Register or re-register immediately after making your subject choices.
You need at least 50% in Mathematics, Physical Science, and Language to progress to the next grade.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

SUBJECT CHOICES DO NOT GUARANTEE RE-REGISTRATION OR REGISTRATION

Learners will not be promoted to the next grade if any subject average is below 40%.
The Principal must approve all subjects, check marks, and ensure class availability.
Each class must have at least 18 students.
You cannot take Physical Science without Mathematics (minimum 50% in Grade 9 Mathematics).
CAT Requirements: While not compulsory, it’s recommended to have access to a computer, internet, Microsoft Office Suite, Word, and a USB memory stick at home.

Our registrations for the next academic year open on the first Monday of July, annually. Click bellow to view the requirements for registrations and documents. No admittance in without correct documents.
